Happy Sabbath, dear friends!
I trust you had a great week and are ready for the beauty of the Sabbath rest. This week started with a bad cold for me. I was totally mad at my virus that kept me from attending the OAKS Christmas social. I was looking forward to that event for several week, but instead I had to sit on a chair by the window of the parsonage and watch as our church and school parking lot had no room for all the families that came to this special event. 😦 I have heard many exciting reports of this program and I hope next week to share with you some photos taken by the school staff. Thank you for your prayers. I feel totally fine to preach tomorrow morning. “The Promise of Freedom” is the central thought of my message for this Sabbath. Satan does not want you to let go of the bondage to sin. Jesus is saying …… It is time to be set free. Are you ready to be free?
Tomorrow night is our Church Christmas social at 5 PM. I hope many of you will be here to share the joy of Christmas. Bring your favorite snack 🙂
Your prayers are needed for the Conerly family. Frances’ mother Mabel Carter passed away this morning. Mrs. Mabel was an active member of the Ooltewah church. At one time she served as a church elder. The graveside service will take place this Sunday at 3 pm at the Collegedale Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Pettengill.
Please, remember in your prayers Jennifer Verdusco (health concerns) and Jacqueline Stoval (a heart bypass or a stent this coming week). Galena, my wife (I was not able to keep my cold virus to myself… 😦 )
Every Sabbath through the month of December we have an additional Christmas offering. Tomorrow is the “Nehemiah Project” Christmas offering. I pray that we donate generously towards this project. Our church building should look better that any other building in Ooltewah as this is the House of the Lord! This is the place where we come into the presence of the Creator of the universe. He deserves our best! With a new roof, new pews, new church signs and new windows we’ll show to the community that our God is our priority! The Nehemiah Project will need up to $200,000. Can WE do it? No! Can God do it through us? YES, no doubts that He can! There is nothing impossible for Him.
Please, remember to visit the church website at http://www.ooltewahchurch.org for more announcements and a current Sabbath bulletin. See you tomorrow morning.
Your friend, Peter
