Praise gets our focus off ourselves and back on God. In our often “selfie” focused world, we need this constant reminder – life is not all about us. We may know that in our heads, but yet our hearts think differently so often. We’re prone to selfishness, but God desires our eyes be set firmly on Him, because that’s where our true hope is found. God is worthy of our praise, no matter what we face from day to day.
“Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness!” Psalm 150:2
“And my tongue shall speak of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.” Psalm 35:28
Thank you, OAKS, for the uplifting worship service last Sabbath. We were all blessed with our students’ participation. During the second service we had to move chairs from the SS rooms into the Fellowship hall. It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents of our students.
Pathfinders Can Drive. Thank you, Pathfinders, for your hard work and caring spirit. Here is a short statement from Cory: “It was amazing and we had considerably more food donated this year than years past. Several families in the community have already been blessed with help this week. Our kids will take the remaining food to the Samaritan Center this Wednesday evening.”
Galena and I personally delivered boxes with food to several families with single moms. All of them were sincerely thankful for our church’s support in times of need.
Pray for Rain! There was a Wonderful prayer Vigil on Wednesday night led by Linda Kulik and Cynthia Weitzel. We gathered to pray for rain. The disastrous drought can be stopped only by God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. There were many prayers offered for God’s intervention. Elijah had to pray three times. I invite you to pray daily until we see an answer. Let us also remember to pray for the firefighters.
OAKS. Here are a few pictures from the OAKS Thanksgiving Simulation day.
Thanksgiving Church Luncheon. This Sabbath our church members and visitors are invited to join our big Thanksgiving luncheon following the second service. I am sure there will be no shortage of food as we’ll all bring our favorite dish big enough to share with others.
PRAYERS. Dorothy Champion had back surgery on Wednesday morning. The surgery went well. Dorothy will stay at Parkridge Hospital for a few days. Please, uplift her in your daily prayers.
Please, pray for little Zoey (Robert and Ty’s daughter). She had another surgery today.
