The Eternal Law

MESSAGE. John Wesley in Sermons on Several Occasions, Vol. 1 XXV wrote: “The moral law contained in the Ten Commandments, and enforced by the prophets, He (Christ) did not take away. It was not the design of His coming to revoke any part of this. This is a law which never can be broken…Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind and in all ages; as not depending either on time or place, or any other circumstances liable to change, but on the nature of God and the nature of man, and their unchangeable relation to each other.”

MINISTRY. Ramp and Prayers. This last Sunday, a group of Godly men with willing and humble hearts were brought together at 7am and completed a wheelchair ramp for Mr. Price (see photos below). This means that for the first time in a long time, Dewayne Price will be able to easily and safely leave his home for things like physical therapy. In addition, we also had the opportunity to minister and pray for the Price family and their various physical and spiritual needs. If anyone would like to know more about their other needs, please reach out to me directly.

A BIG thank you to, Eric Ford, Edwin Reynolds, Ed Demaree, Jason Smith, Luis Rivera, Steve Kulik and Mike Haughee for demonstrating your Christ-like love through action. It may have only taken 5 hours to build, but I am confident that it has made a huge and lasting impact on the Price family.

Thank you Edymar for your inspirational leadership and this report.

Men’s Ministry breakfast will NOT be at church this Sunday. Weather permitting, Haney’s Hungry Hombres will be meeting at 8:15-8:30 am at the Harrison Ruritan car show for a tailgate BYOB (bring our own breakfast).

The Season of Change meeting this past Thursday brought together about fourty widows. Some from our own church, others from the area churches and our community. Thank you, Lupina and your team, for your loving ministry and your caring spirit. I thoroughly enjoyed a few photos forwarded to me by Steve Bremner from the event. I am sharing these pictures with you below.

This morning I joined Jerilyn’s parents, her husband Don, and their close friend Seth for a private graveside service. During the service the beautiful sunshine and peaceful bird songs reaffirmed our faith in the soon coming of the Lord and the glorious day of Resurrection. The Memorial service for Jerylin is tomorrow at our church at 4 pm, followed by a reception. Everyone is invited to join the celebration of Jerilyn’s beautiful life.

Camp meeting is starting this Wednesday night, May 31. I doubt that any of you will be actually “camping,” šŸ˜ƒ  but I’m sure that many of you will want to attend the meetings. The full schedule of the meetings is available right here MORE LIKE HIM.

There will be no prayer meeting at our church on Wednesday night. However, we’ll be open for both services on June 3. I don’t believe in “closed churches.” There will be a baby dedication during the second service. Luis and Jackie Vela are from Vermont. They have recently moved to this area and are attending our church services. They have three children, Genesis, 4, Adagio, 2, and Penelope, who is only 4 months young. Some of their family is coming to visit from VT to celebrate Penelope’s dedication. Luis and Jackie are inviting church members to join their family potluck after the second service.

PRAYERS. Peggy Bell had surgery on Tuesday. The surgery went well, and Peggy appreciates all of your prayers and well wishes.

Please continue your prayers for Jarylin’s family.

Howard has not been feeling well lately. He is currently at Siskin hospital and needs our prayers.

Thank you for all your kind messages and prayers. My surgery went well. I was already at church (drove myself šŸ˜Ž) early last Sunday morning for the Nominating committee meeting. The week went well and I’m planning on preaching both services tomorrow morning. No shaking hands after the service though šŸ˜¢  hugging will be alright šŸ˜‡.

Happy Sabbath, my friends.
