MESSAGE. “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:10-13
This Sabbath morning we’ll study the third sign of Christ’s Soon Return. I hope you’ll not miss this important message.
MINISTRY. VBS. Below is a brief report and lots of great photos from pastor Aubrey:
URGENT! More volunteers are needed this afternoon, Friday, July 7. Esther is working in the Fellowship Hall of our church as I’m typing this message. She is concerned that we don’t have enough people to finish the sewing for the VBS program. She’ll gladly accept help throughout the day. If you have a sewing machine and have some basic sewing skills please come and help. Thank you in advance.
Tomorrow we have a baby dedication during the second service. John and Jessica Turner will present their baby boy Alexandre to the Lord. Pastor Aubrey will officiate the service. This will be her first ever baby dedication experience. Exciting! Here is a photo of Alexander:
Church directory update. Our new church directory was printed in January. Since then many new members joined our church. We certainly want to have their photos in the directory. Our church elder Michael Haughee made arrangements for an additional photo session. The company (Church Life Publishing) is going to send a rep and photographer on Sunday, July, 16th. We will get supplement sheets to peel and stick into the directories. We will also get a PDF and App update. Please, don’t miss this opportunity to sign up for the July 16th session.
Family Life. We all love when life is going great. But what happens when it doesn’t, when we are struggling with the pain and grief of loss? Grief often looks different for each person and can come from varied life events such as the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, income, home, health, status, broken relationships or the loss of a cherished friendship. The Family Ministry Department of the Georgia Cumberland Conference will be sponsoring a grief recovery weekend, “Letting It Go, ” on August 24-27, 2017 at Cohutta Springs Conference Center. The guest speakers will be David & Beverly Sedlacek from Andrews University. Early Registration is July 27, and the final registration deadline is August 7. Registration information will be located in the church foyer, or you can register on the conference’s website. For more information, call (706) 629-7951, ext. 342, or visit https://www.gccsda.com/events/38148 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Ps. 34:18.
