MESSAGE. Paul wrote in Philippians 2:21 “For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.” From the day we’re born, our world revolves around us. Until there’s something else in our lives in control, we’re going to be controlled by selfishness. So for us to become servants, we need an attitude adjustment. This life is not about us. It’s about serving God and others. Faith is demonstrated through action. There is no such thing as a non-serving Christian. It’s impossible. It’s an oxymoron. For Jesus said, “Wherever I am, my servant will be also.” You might be religious, but if you’re not serving with Jesus, you’re not following Jesus. There is no such thing as a non-serving Christian.
MINISTRY. Edymar is back from his exotic family vacation and he is not losing time. Below is a summary-report from the Men’s Ministry team: “Here we are in July and summer is full swing!
Haney’s Hungry Hombres is on schedule for the 4th Sunday of July (29th) and for this month, we will be helping the school with its annual campus work-bee. Our focus will be to provide a big breakfast for the volunteers and to help with mulching the playground. We did this last year and it was so much fun! Everyone enjoyed the breakfast burritos but this year it will be pancakes, eggs and juice.
Please note, we will meet at the fellowship hall at 730am to prepare breakfast. The men will eat at 8am, have a short devotional, then wrap up the men’s breakfast by 830am. Once we are done, we will open the fellowship hall to all the volunteers. We will serve breakfast from 830am to 930am to insure everyone has a full belly and is ready to work hard.
In addition to the breakfast, we are returning to our sisters house to complete the 2nd phase of the project we started last month. Attached is a group photo (some folks are missing) of the first team who demonstrated love in action. A BIG Thank you to all who were able to be there that day. I believe everyone had a good time and were also able to get a lot done! As they say, many hands make for light lifting.
For the 2nd phase, we will need 5-6 able bodied men to move lots of heavy items. We are moving these items in an effort to prepare for a yard sale which God willing, will produce some much needed funds for your beloved sister. If you are able to help, please reply to his email or text me. The plan is to meet at the home this Sunday the 22nd at 8am for 3 hours or so.
Thank you all for what you do. Your willingness and sacrifice to help is exactly what a church community is all about.
If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Pathfinders. I know that many of you took one of the envelopes from the Pathfinder Club tree last week. There are several more still hanging there waiting for your loving hands. I invite you to participate in this church-wide endeavor and help our youth.
Congratulations to the Hall family! They have a newborn baby girl. Here is a post from Alisa’s Facebook page: “Emma Kelly Hall made her grand entrance into the world last night, July 15, at 8:12 p.m. Our baby girl is 6 lb. 12 oz. and 19 inches long, but has already found a huge place in our hearts.”
PRAYERS. I invite you to continue praying for Marleen Keaton who is recovering after the fall during the VBS program.
See you tomorrow at church.
