MESSAGE.
“… we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Ch. 20:12). When we are attacked by discouragement, doubts or physical trials, our natural tendency is to help ourselves. The only safe way to overcome the enemy is to lift our eyes on God. He knows how to win. Our self-help keeps God at a distance in a standby mode. It is only when we cry “we do not know what to do…” that we acknowledge His power over our enemies.
MINISTRY.
Ooltewah Evangelism. Through the summer we continue Evangelism training and community outreach activities leading to the November evangelistic meetings. In July the training seminar with the SALT instructors will take place next week, July 20, at 2 pm. Lunch will be provided from 1 to 2 pm for those who stay for the seminar. After the training event all participants are invited to go into the area neighborhoods from 3 to 5pm. We need volunteers to bake cookies which will be passed out along with glow tracks. If you are interested either in helping with the cookies please see Jaude Barbosa or Tui in the lobby of the church. They will have sign up sheets.
“If he have faith, the believer cannot be restrained. He betrays himself. He breaks out. He confesses and teaches this gospel to the people at the risk of life itself.” (Martin Luther “But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.” Exodus 9:16
Cereal Barrel Ministry. Our barrel is running low. Even if you cannot travel to a far away mission field you can still be a missionary in your own neighborhood. The Samaritan Center is helping hundreds of people every month to get food for their families. Every one of the cereal boxes you put into the barrel helps some family in our community.
